WISE WORDS on love & relationships

‘Love is very patient and kind. It’s not jealous or domineering, it’s not proud or rude. It’s not selfish or irritable. It doesn’t keep a list of what you’ve done wrong! It thrives on truth, not evil. It’s always supportive and loyal. It stubbornly keeps believing and inspires confidence. It never quits.’* - 1 Corinthians 13:4-8

*This isn’t saying you have to stick around and put up with abuse. In fact, the best way to show real love to an abuser can be to refuse to let them keep abusing.

Give each other more honour than you take yourself.

Never give up. Be fired up by the Holy Spirit within.

Let hope make you optimistic. Be patient in tough times and never stop praying…

Pray for anyone who mistreats you - ask God to bless them, not curse them!

If others are happy, be happy with them. If they’re sad, empathise with them…

Don’t try to get revenge.’ - Romans 12:9-19

‘God loves you... So be gentle, kind, humble rather than proud, and patient. Put up with each others faults, and forgive anyone who wrongs you in the same way Christ has forgiven you. Love is more important than anything else. It pulls everything together.’ - Colossians 3:12-14

‘A kind, gentle answer can soothe angry feelings, but fighting words can stir them up even worse.’ - Proverbs 15:1-2
