The good news is ‘God has chosen you from the beginning to be saved through your faith in the truth and the Holy Spirit’s power to keep you close to God… So stand tall and hang onto the true teaching we’ve given you.’ (2 Thessalonians 2:13-15)

Dr Koch tells about a young girl invited to a seance by her friends. She enjoyed it at first and kept going, but then suffered deep depression and was placed into a mental hospital. She did not go to any more seances, and the chaplain helped her to trust that Jesus had power over evil spirits. She has since made a complete recovery.

Many people who’ve been hassled by spirits have been cured by prayer using the name of Jesus. He spent a lot of time throwing demons out of people. (e.g. Mark 5:1-20 and Luke 9:37-43)

Jesus said people must replace evil spirits with His Holy Spirit in their mind, or else they get worse. (see Luke 11:24-26) But people who regularly ask the Holy Spirit to be with them, can expect to grow into ‘love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith, gentleness and self-control.’ (Galatians 5:22)

‘Don’t let evil defeat you. Defeat evil with good.’ (Romans 12:21)
